Harshitha Samarawickrama playing for Sri Lanka in an ODI

Sri Lanka batting pair Harshitha Samarawickrama and Nilaskshika Silva have both been rewarded for their strong showings in their side's memorable win over India last weekend, with both making big moves up the ICC ODI rankings table.

Samarawickrama and Silva's match-winning efforts reap rewards

Samarawickrama and Silva both scored half-centuries in the match, which was the first time Sri Lanka have beaten India in an ODI since 2018. After Samarawickrama got the side off to a strong start in their 276-run chase with 53 off 61 balls, Silva took the team to the brink of victory with a boundary-fuelled 56 off 33 balls.

Sri Lanka got over the line with five balls to spare with the result drawing them level on points with India in the top two positions in the table. Two days before that victory, Sri Lanka also secured a win over South Africa in the tri-series, Samarawickrama again delivering the goods with 77 off 93 balls, while Silva scored the winning runs with a boundary off Nadine de Klerk.

Both batters have moved up significantly in the ICC women's ODI batting rankings after those performances, with Samarawickrama jumping nine places to 18th and Silva moving up 18 places to 25th.

Pratika Rawal reaches career-high

New India opener Pratika Rawal, who has enjoyed a record start to her ODI career, becoming the quickest woman to score 500 runs in ODIs, has gained five spots to 42nd with a rating of 497 - both a personal best for her.

Elsewhere in the rankings, Tamzin Britz made up 12 places to break into the top 50. She now sits 40th after scoring a century in South Africa's opening game of the tri-series against India.

The top spots are unchanged, with Laura Wolvaardt remaining the top-ranked batter, Sophie Ecclestone out in front in the bowling rankings and Ash Gardner up top in the all-rounder charts. Smriti Mandhana has dropped a place down to third in the batting rankings, with newly appointed England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt overtaking her into second. De Klerk moves up three spots in the bowling standings to 25th overall, with Nonkululeko Mlaba up six places to 28th after taking two wickets against Sri Lanka.

Veteran Sri Lanka captain Chamari Athapaththu has also moved up in the bowling standings following her three-wicket-haul against India, and now sits in 29th place.
