The lower middle order ensured that the platform laid by Nair and Shrijith didn't go to waste, adding valuable runs towards the end. Shreyas Gopal contributed a brisk 36, and Abhinav Manohar played a useful cameo of 26 to push the total to a competitive level. The standout performer with the ball for Vidarbha was undoubtedly Darshan Nalkande, whose clever variations and change of pace proved a handful for the Karnataka batters, earning him an impressive five-wicket haul. Yash Thakur chipped in with two wickets, while Nachiket Bhute and Yash Kadam secured one each.

A crucial rebuilding phase followed as Dhruv Prabhakar joined the experienced Karun Nair in the middle. The duo managed to steady the ship, navigating the tricky period after the early wickets. However, their partnership was cut short when Prabhakar was dismissed, bringing Krishnan Shrijith to the crease with the team total on 74. This proved to be the turning point in the innings, as Nair and Shrijith forged a formidable 113-run fourth-wicket partnership. Both batters displayed excellent temperament, bringing up their respective half-centuries and shifting the momentum back in Karnataka's favour before eventually departing for well-made scores of 76 and 54, respectively.

Karnataka's innings comes to a close just shy of their full quota of 50 overs, as they have been bowled out for a total of 280. Karnataka, after winning the toss and choosing to bat first, found themselves in early trouble against a disciplined Vidarbha bowling attack. The opening pair of Mayank Agarwal and Devdutt Padikkal failed to make significant contributions, with both falling cheaply and the scoreboard reflecting a precarious 2 for 20. Vidarbha's bowlers utilized the conditions well, applying early pressure and not allowing the top order any breathing room. The early dismissals set the stage for a challenging first phase of the innings for Karnataka.

Mandatory concussion check is underway after Vijaykumar Vyshak was hit by a short one. Vyshak looks a bit rocket but is good to continue.
