West Indies squad

The West Indies have named their squad for their upcoming ODI tours of Ireland and England.

The West Indies have named a 15-member squad for the six ODIs they are scheduled to play in the British Isles across May and June 2025. They will play three ODIs in Ireland from May 21 to 25, followed by three more in England from May 29 to June 3.

West Indies squad: Who's in, who's out?

Shai Hope will lead the squad. A notable inclusion is 18-year-old Jewel Andrew, who impressed at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. Andrew neither batted nor bowled nor effected a dismissal in his only ODI, at Pallekele in 2024, as Evin Lewis pulled off an incredible chase to help the West Indies win an ODI in Sri Lanka after 19 years.

Shimron Hetmyer had played all three ODIs against England at home in December 2024. In his only innings, he hit an 11-ball 24. He is not part of this squad, for which there is no official reason.

Among the support staff, Ravi Rampaul has been named bowling coach. He replaced James Franklin. For the Ireland leg, Kevin O’Brien will join the squad as part of the staff.

“These matches form a critical component towards the 2027 World Cup and there are signs of the team building consistency following the series sweep against Bangladesh and the win over England late last year,” said head coach Daren Sammy. “We expect the conditions to be challenging but we are creating a culture and mindset which emphasize playing the brand of cricket that is taking us closer to some of our overall objectives.”
