In this quiz, you have to name every bowler to take at least two ten-wicket hauls in Test cricket.

There are significantly fewer left-armers than their right-handed counterparts. To take ten wickets in a Test match is to account for half the maximum possible scalps a team is allotted. The intersection of the two sets is, thus, extremely small. To perform such a feat is rare. To repeat it is incredible.

Until May 6, 2025, only 28 left-arm bowlers have taken two or more ten-wicket hauls in Test cricket. This is a motley crew, representing Test cricket in terms of both history and geography, including several active Test bowlers.

Quiz! Left-arm bowlers with most five-wicket hauls in Test cricket

At the top are two finger-spinners – a 21st-century Sri Lankan, followed by an Englishman who played from the mid-1960s to the early 1980s. A fast bowler, hailed by some as the greatest of all time, is at third place. They are followed by two pre-War bowlers.

How many can you name in five minutes?
