The list features plenty of modern greats of the game, but also a few more obscure names. Only twice in this period has a bowler breached the 90-wicket mark in a year, with none having taken 100 wickets in a year yet.
For instances where two or more bowlers finished as the joint-highest wicket-takers in a year, we've selected the ones who finished with the lower bowling average.
