Australia can boast of having some of the greatest openers in the game’s history in their ranks. Two of the top ten on this list, including the first name of the list, opened together in the 2020s. Another pair dominated the early 2000s, and is often rated among the greatest ever opening partnerships in Test cricket history.

A left-right pair preceded them in the 1990s, playing a significant role in Australia’s rise to the top of the world of Test cricket. They had several other great partnerships – a pair in the early days of Don Bradman and another in his final days, and a pair in the 1960s, both of whom led Australia.
