Between September 14, 2007 and August 29, 2016, Sri Lanka used to hold the record for the highest team totals in all three formats in men’s cricket. Their 952-6 against India in 1997 is still a world record in Test cricket, while the 624-run stand between Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara is a record even in first-class cricket.
