For the second game in a row, Bangladesh played without their captain, Litton Das. They began strongly, reducing Pakistan to 71-6. Saim Ayub recorded his fourth duck of the tournament, becoming the first player from a Full Member nation to do so in a men's T20I series.
The highest partnership of the innings (38 off 24) came for the seventh wicket between Mohammad Haris and Mohammad Nawaz. Following Haris’ departure for 31 off 23, Nawaz’s 15-ball 25 and Faheem Ashraf's unbeaten 14 off nine took Pakistan to 135-8.
Defending the meagre total, Pakistan put up a clinical bowling performance, led by Shaheen Afridi’s 3-17. Bangladesh’s innings stuttered throughout as they finished on 124-9, with only Shamim Hossain (30 off 25) showing some resistance.
This was the joint-fourth lowest total ever defended by Pakistan in men's T20Is. Previously, they have won twice after scoring 135: against Bangladesh in 2011 and against the West Indies in 2013. Their best effort in this regard came against Sri Lanka in 2012, when they won after scoring 122-6.

With that win, Pakistan sealed their place in the final against India on September 28, knocking Sri Lanka and Bangladesh out of contention. India face Sri Lanka in a dead rubber on Friday (September 26).
Pakistan will be eyeing their third title, while a win would extend India's record trophy tally to nine. This would also be the first time India and Pakistan will meet in an Asia Cup final.
