Dewald Brevis plays a shot during the Australia v South Africa white ball series

Australia and South Africa are set to follow-up their thrilling T20I series with three ODIs. Here's where you can watch the 50-over series, on TV channels and live streaming around the world.

Glenn Maxwell starred in a tense Australia win in the T20I series decider in Cairns over the weekend. The all-rounder scored a clutch half-century as well as taking a stunning catch to secure the key wicket of Dewald Brevis in South Africa's innings. Brevis lit up the previous match by becoming the youngest player ever to score a century in a men's T20I for South Africa.

When will the AUS vs SA ODI series be played?

The first match of the series will be played in Cairns on August 19, and will begin at 2:30pm local time. The following two matches will begin at the same time on August 22 and August 24 respectively, both being played in Mackay.

The last time the two sides met in an ODI series, South Africa secured a 3-2 home victory in 2023, which came just before that year's 50-over World Cup. Australia beat South Africa in the semi-final of that competition. With another World Cup just over two years away, which South Africa will host, both sides will have one eye on the road to that competition.

AUS vs SA Team News

This will be Australia's first ODI series since the retirements of Steve Smith and Glenn Maxwell from the format, with the two greats calling time on their 50-over careers after this year's Champions Trophy. They will also be without Matt Short, Mitchell Owen and Lance Morris, who were all selected in their initial squad before being ruled-out with injury. Those absences mean Cooper Connolly, Aaron Hardie and Matt Kuhnemann have all been added to the group. Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins have been rested after the Test tour of Caribbean, but Marnus Labuschagne has been selected, after he lost his Test place for the West Indies series.

As for South Africa, they will be playing their first ODI series since Heinrich Klaasen's retirement, but will have more of their all-format players available. Temba Bavuma is set to captain the side, with Keshav Maharaj also in the group. Brevis is also set to make his ODI debut after his T20I pyrotechnics. Kwena Maphaka was added to the 50-over squad following the T20Is, but will have to fight his way into the pace attack.
