Australia and South Africa are set to face off in three ODIs from Tuesday (August 19). Here are the latest ICC ODI team rankings ahead of the series.
South Africa and Australia have treated fans to some thrilling contests in recent months. In the WTC final in June, the Proteas chased down a 282-run fourth-innings target, clinching their first ICC title in 27 years. The recently-concluded T20I series between the sides went down to the wire as well. A 41-ball century from South Africa sensation, Dewald Brevis, in the second match kept the series alive, but Australia narrowly edged past the visitors in the decider, winning by two wickets off the penultimate ball to take the series 2-1. Glenn Maxwell’s unbeaten 62 off 36 balls proved crucial.

Next up is a three-match ODI series between the two sides with games scheduled on August 19, 22, and 24. The first match will be played at Cazaly's Stadium in Cairns, while the next two will be played at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay.
With the T20I series wrapped up, the focus now shifts to the ODI showdown. 💥🇿🇦
