The fifth edition of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League is scheduled to begin on September 5. Here’s how you can catch the action live.
Jamaica Empress have been introduced as the fourth team for the upcoming season, with the other three teams - Barbados Tridents, Guyana Amazon Warriors and Trinbago Knight Riders - continuing.
The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, with the team that finishes first after the league stage directly qualifying for the final. The second and third-placed sides will lock horns in the playoff, with the final advancing to the final.
Stafanie Taylor will lead Empress, while Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews will captain Knight Riders and Tridents, respectively. Chloe Tryon will be the only overseas captain in the league, leading Amazon Warriors.
The inaugural edition was won by Trinbago Knight Riders. while each of the next three seasons has been clinched by Barbados Tridents, who were previously known as Barbados Royals.
All eight fixtures will be played in Bridgetown, with day and night games both being played. The final is scheduled for September 17.
