All four batters scored hundreds to help Northamptonshire amass a record-breaking 684-2 against Kent in the 2026 County Championship.
Northamptonshire pulverise Kent with record 684-2
Northamptonshire had seized control of the game at the St Lawrence Ground in Canterbury when they had finished the first day on 409-1. They had lost Ricardo Vasconcelos (127 in 170 balls), but Luke Procter and Calvin Harrison (153 in 193) continued to plunder runs on the second morning until the latter fell for 153.
Nathan McSweeney (101 not out in 85) now joined in before Procter (261 not out in 357) declared the innings closed on 684-2. These are now the career-best scores for both Procter and Harrison. At the time of writing, Kent were 176-9, Harry Conway having taken five of their wickets.
This was the third time four Northamptonshire batters scored hundreds. The previous instance also came against Kent at Canterbury, in 2025 (Vasconcelos 100, Harrison 122, Saif Zaib 196 not out, Justin Broad 157 not out).
This was also the third instance of only four batters batting in a team innings and each of them scoring hundreds.
