Josh Tongue catches ball in County Championship fixture

Josh Tongue took his 15th career first-class five-for in Nottinghamshire's County Championship match against Warwickshire, finishing with figures of 5-124.

Josh Tongue takes fourth five-wicket haul in eight first-class appearances for Nottinghamshire

Tongue, who was England's stand-out quick during the winter Ashes series, last played in Nottinghamshire's second-round fixture against Somerset. He took two wickets in each innings as the match petered out into a draw.

Returning to action at Trent Bridge, however, he was given a long spell opening the bowling, and he struck in his sixth and seventh overs. He removed Rob Yates with a ball that climbed and was edged to slip, before Dan Mousley was caught off a leading edge in Tongue's next over. Those two wickets left Warwickshire three down before Lunch.

A familiar match-up awaited Tongue after the interval, with Warwickshire sending out overseas player and Australia Ashes all-rounder Beau Webster. Having initially scored quickly, he chopped a ball from Tongue onto his stumps from a loose drive to become the pacer's third wicket.

Tongue had to wait until late in the day to complete his five-for, however. He got retired England allrounder, Chris Woakes, out off an under edge, which was chopped onto the stumps, before combining with Ben Duckett to remove Jordan Thompson.
