Duleep Trophy 2025: Road to the final
South Zone got a bye in the quarter-final and faced North in the semis. Batting first, they racked up a mammoth 536 in the first innings, with Narayan Jagadeesan making 197. North Zone responded with 361, but not enough time was left in the game for them to force a result. Draw was called with South on 96-1 in the second innings. They progressed on the basis of their first-innings lead.
Central Zone had a longer route to the final. They put up massive first innings scores in both the quater-final against North East Zone and the semi-final against West. In the former, Danish Malewar scored a double hundred while Rajat Patidar and Shubham Sharma scored tons, while six individual half-centuries in the latter saw them nearly break the first-class record for the highest team total without a hundred on Indian soil.
Central Zone will be led by Rajat Patidar, while Mohammed Azharuddeen will lead South Zone in the final.
