Joe Root regained the top spot in the Test batting rankings, while Scott Boland broke into the top ten among bowlers.
Root displaces Brook at the top
England won the classic at Lord’s by 22 runs. Joe Root made 104 and 40 in the Test, which helped him displace teammate Harry Brook from the top spot on ICC’s Test rankings. Brook, on the other hand, made 11 and 23 to drop to third place, below Kane Williamson. Ben Duckett had a rare ordinary game, making 23 and 12, to slide from ninth place to 12th.

Ravindra Jadeja made 72 and 61 not out, and KL Rahul 100 and 39. They gained five places each, and are now 34th and 35th. Rishabh Pant (74 and 9), Yashasvi Jaiswal (13 and 0), and Shubman Gill (16 and 6), on the other hand, dropped to fifth, eighth, and ninth.
In the low-scoring Kingston Test, Steve Smith’s 48 and 5 helped him replace Jaiswal at fourth place, while Cameron Green’s 46 and 42 helped him rise from 43rd to joint 29th. In the same Test, John Campbell made 36 and a golden duck, but still rose three spots to 75th, while Justin Greaves (18 and 11) went from 101st to 87th. Greaves’ 11 came out of a total of 27, the second-lowest in Test cricket history.
Boland breaks into top ten
Already ranked first, Jasprit Bumrah (5-74 and 2-38) went past the 900-mark yet again, and now has a rating of 901. Among his teammates, Washington Sundar (0-21 and 4-22), on the other hand, jumped 12 places to joint 46th, while Akash Deep (0-92 and 1-30) slid five slots to joint 50th. No England cricketer had a substantial change.

Scott Boland followed his 3-34 with a ridiculous 3-2 to attain a rating of 784 and a rank of sixth, both career-bests. Despite his 1-32 and 6-9 in his 100th Test, however, Mitchell Starc stayed at 10th as bowlers rose and fell around him. Teammates Pat Cummins (third) and Josh Hazlewood (fourth) retained their ranks.
Among West Indians, Shamar Joseph (29th to 14th after 4-33 and 4-34), Alzarri Joseph (31st to 29th after 0-23 and 5-27), and Greaves (80th to 65th after 3-56 and 1-19) had substantial leaps.
