ENG v IND ODIs: Team news

The hosts have handed a maiden ODI call-up to all-rounder James Coles, after a stunning set of performances in the domestic setup. To add to that, speedster Josh Tongue, who is yet to make his ODI debut has also been drafted into the squad. Gus Atkinson and Saqib Mahmood return to the ODI side after missing out on the tour to Sri Lanka.

As compared to the 15-member squad that toured Sri Lanka earlier this year, the ECB have made four changes to the squad. Coles, Archer, Mahmood and Atkinson have replaced Brydon Carse, Zak Crawley, Jamie Overton and Luke Wood. The rest of the squad remains the same, with Harry Brook at the helm.

As far as India are concerned, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was previously named in the squad developed a left quadriceps injury in the third ODI against Afghanistan. As a result, he was ruled out of the England ODIs, with Shivam Dube named as his replacement.

Furthermore, Prince Yadav, who made his ODI debut against Afghanistan last month has been drafted into the squad as a replacement for Harshit Rana, who was ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Virat Kohli returns after missing the Afghanistan series due to a hamstring injury.
