According to media reports, the third ODI against England could be Rohit Sharma's final international appearance. Here's the latest news and what we know so far.
According to a report in The Indian Express, Rohit Sharma could be set to play his final match for India in the third ODI against England. The former India captain, who now only plays in ODIs, has endured a difficult run of form in recent months.
The 39-year-old has played eight ODIs this year, scoring 241 runs at an average of 30.12 and a strike rate of 88.60. His highest score is a knock of 79 against Afghanistan in Chennai, his only fifty in 2026.
Rohit began the year with scores of 26, 24 and 11 against New Zealand, before managing 11 and 26 in the first two matches of the ongoing England series.
He also suffered from a hamstring injury in the IPL, which restricted his campaign to nine matches. Rohit scored 283 runs at an average of 35.37 and a strike rate of 157.22 in this season.
Rohit retired from T20Is after leading India to the 2024 T20 World Cup title and announced his Test retirement ahead of the England tour last year. He was removed from captaincy after leading India to the Champions Trophy triumph last year.
