ICC rankings update

As per the latest ICC ratings, Keacy Carty, Joe Root, and Saqib Mahmood had significant ascents on the men’s ODI rankings.

Latest ICC rankings for ODI batters: Keacy Carty continues to rise, Joe Root re-enters top 25

Carty continued with his remarkable run in ODIs, hitting three hundreds in 10 days. He now has 1,403 runs from 33 ODIs, breaking Viv Richards’s West Indian record of 1,399. He also jumped four places on the ICC rankings to reach 12th place, one behind Shai Hope.

Joe Root, meanwhile, scaled 14 places after 57, the record-breaking 166 not out, and 44 against the West Indies. They helped him return to the top 25 – he is 24th now – for the first time since September 2023.

The top ten, however, remained unchanged. It is worth a mention that Heinrich Klaasen, who retired from all international cricket earlier this week, is still at fourth place.
