England completed a clean-sweep over West Indies with a 37-run win in Southampton on June 10. Here is how the result affected the ICC men's T20I rankings.
Harry Brook’s first T20I series as full-time captain came to an end with England posting their highest-ever T20I total on home soil. Ben Duckett and Jamie Smith put on 120 runs for the first wicket before Jos Buttler played a 10-ball cameo for 22 runs. That innings followed Buttler's contribution in the first match of the series where he fell four runs short of a century.
After cameos from Jacob Bethell and Brook, the West Indies needed to chase 249. They lost both openers in the powerplay – Evin Lewis and Johnson Charles were dismissed for nine apiece. From there, Shai Hope scored 45 of 27 balls before Rovman Powell provided the only other real resistance from West Indies. He scored a boundary-fuelled knock of 79, and remained unbeaten as West Indies fell 37 runs short.
The positions of both sides in the ICC men's T20I rankings remain unaltered after the result, with England staying in third position while West Indies sit in sixth. West Indies will have an opportunity to boost their ranking position against Ireland in a T20I series which starts later this week.
