Ali Raza continued his incredible run in the 2026 U19 World Cup, this time with 3-16 against Zimbabwe.
Ali Raza leads the rout, again
Pakistan bowled out Zimbabwe for 128 in 35.5 overs after Farhan Yousaf won the toss and opted to field at the Takashinga Sports Club in Harare. Opening bowling, Raza bowled opener Kupakwashe Muradzi in his second over and had Kian Blignaut caught-behind in his third to reduce the hosts to 22-2.
Returning later in the innings, he caught Brandon Senzere (15) off his own bowling. Nathaniel Hlabangana, the other opener, made 59, while last man Shelton Mazvitorera remained unbeaten on 12. All five Pakistan bowlers claimed at least one wicket apiece, but of them, Raza (3-16) was the only one to take three. Sameer Minhas (74 not out in 75 balls) then helped Pakistan win inside 27 overs with eight wickets in hand.
After three matches, Raza’s tournament figures stand at nine wickets at 9.88 and a strike rate of only 19. Only Afghanistan’s Nooristani Omarzai (10 wickets at 7.60) is ahead of him on the wickets chart.
Two years ago, in the 2024 edition, Raza was magnificent against Australia in the semi-final. Defending only 180, Raza picked up 4-34 to help reduce Australia to 164-9, but the latter won by one wicket. He had finished that edition with nine wickets at 10.67 and a strike rate of 20. In 2025, he bowled a particularly hostile spell against the Multan Sultans in the PSL.
