Right then, a damp end to the league stage action of the 2025 ICC Women’s World Cup. Earlier in the day, England defeated New Zealand convincingly in Vizag to finish second and push South Africa down to the third spot. It was Sophie Devine's final ODI for the White Ferns, but the farewell didn’t go as they would have hoped. The tournament now moves into the knockout phase, starting on Wednesday, 29th October, with England taking on South Africa in the first semifinal in Guwahati. The second semifinal follows on Thursday, 30th October, as India face Australia in Navi Mumbai. Both matches will begin at 3 pm IST (9.30 am GMT). There’s plenty of men’s white-ball action to follow in the meantime, which you can track across the match centres. Until then, take care and goodbye!

India's captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, says that the clarity with which the bowlers bowled was good to see, and that is a major takeaway from this game. Informs that the medical team will soon provide an update on Pratika Rawal. Believes that they have played some really good cricket in the league stage. Further says that everyone contributed when it mattered. Tells that they just want to enjoy their cricket. Praises Radha Yadav for her efforts with the ball and reckons that it gives them an option for the next game.

Nigar Sultana Joty, the captain of Bangladesh says that it was a tough blow on the fingertips and she got hit exactly where she had been hit before. Continues that there were a few areas where they could have done well against England, South Africa and Sri Lanka, which could have helped them to win those matches. Adds that they are working hard as a group and they also included a few young players. Ends up saying that they will take the positives from this campaign and comeback stronger.

      Time for the presentation ceremony...

In pursuit of a revised DLS target of 126 in 27 overs, Smriti Mandhana walked out to open alongside a new partner, Amanjot Kaur, due to Rawal's injury. Mandhana picked up where she had left off in the previous game, while Kaur played the second fiddle. Bangladesh struggled to make an impact with the ball, which was made more difficult by the wet conditions, and there were also lapses in the field. India were cruising in the chase before the rain returned to bring an abrupt end to the game. On the bowling front, all six b options used by Harmanpreet Kaur picked up at least one wicket, with Radha Yadav, playing her first game of this World Cup, claiming three wickets.

Earlier, India opted to bowl first, but a spell of rain after the toss reduced the game to 43 overs per side. Renuka Singh Thakur showcased her threat with the new ball, troubling the Bangladeshi openers, who struggled to get her away. Neither opener could make a significant impact, and soon after Nigar Sultana Joty arrived at the crease, rain returned 12.2 overs into the innings. With the match reduced from 43 to 27 overs, Bangladesh faced a tricky situation in approaching their innings. Sharmin Akhter held one end, and although Sobhana Mostary sparked a brief flurry of runs, it wasn’t enough, and Bangladesh finished with 119.

Well, the official word is in! THE GAME HAS BEEN ABANDONED DUE TO RAIN. The rain shows no signs of letting up, and there isn’t enough time to resume play. Both teams share a point each. Bangladesh finish level on three points with Pakistan, but with one win to their name, they will finish above the winless Pakistan and avoid the wooden spoon. As for India, there wasn’t much to gain from this game, but they leave with a significant injury concern. Pratika Rawal sustained an injury to her knee and ankle while fielding, and her availability for the semifinals will be closely monitored.

UPDATE - 10.15 pm IST (4.45 pm GMT) - The rain continues to fall steadily, and it is not looking good. For a result to be possible, we need at least 20 overs to be completed.

Game stopped due to Rain Stoppage

UPDATE - 10.05 pm IST (4.35 pm GMT) - Nigar Sultana Joty has taken a blow on her fingertips as the ball nicks the outside edge of the bat. Just as the physios are out in the middle, the rain has picked up and the players are going off. The ground staff rush in with the covers.

      Rabeya Khan to Amanjot Kaur

PUT DOWN AGAIN! Pretty difficult though! Rabeya drops it short, outside off. Amanjot Kaur goes on the back foot in a flash and goes hard on the cut. Gets a healthy deflection and the keeper, Nigar Sultana Joty is not able to react quickly. Ends up taking a blow on the right thumb.

      Rabeya Khan to Amanjot Kaur

Worth a shout! Full and drifting onto the pads, Amanjot presses ahead for the flick but is beaten on the inside edge. The ball clips her front pad and rolls away. UltraEdge shows no bat but it is umpire's call on Ball Tracking with the ball clipping the leg pole.

Bangladesh Women have reviewed for LBW after a confident appeal from Nahida Akter! The UltraEdge shows no bat involved and the Ball Tracking shows that the delivery is just clipping the leg stump, therefore, it's the umpire's call. Well, it has started to drizzle and the umbrellas are up in the crowd.

      Rabeya Khan to Smriti Mandhana

Wider on off, full in length, Smriti Mandhana reaches out and drives it towards cover, where the fielder gets low to her right but the ball gets past her, allowing a single.
