The competition, which was supposed to be finished by May 25 as per the earlier schedule, will now end by June 3. Bengaluru, Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai will host the remaining games, with the venues for the playoffs yet to be confirmed. However, the IPL release mentioned that "a total of 17 matches will be played across six venues", implying that no other venue apart from these six will get the playoff games.
Initially, Kolkata was supposed to host the Qualifier 2 and the final after their home franchise, Kolkata Knight Riders, won the previous season's title, while Hyderabad was supposed to host Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator following SRH's runners-up finish last season. However, both those venues will no longer host the playoff games.

Report: Play-off venues announcement witheld due to weather
According to a Cricbuzz report, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has been shortlisted to host Qualifier 2 and the final, scheduled for June 1 and 3, respectively. The report claims that the likely decision is prompted because of predicted inclement weather in Kolkata as well as logistical concerns.
Monsoon is expected to hit India’s southernmost coast on May 27, five days earlier than usual, according to the India Meteorological Department. As per the latest report, the Southwest monsoon that started on Tuesday (May 13) has advanced into some parts of the south Bay of Bengal, south Andaman Sea, Nicobar Islands and some parts of the north Andaman Sea. The early onset of monsoon may interfere with West Bengal, the capital of Kolkata, during the final.
At the time of writing (May 13), Accuweather predicts thunderstorms in Kolkata on June 3, the night of the final, with a 65 per cent probability of precipitation. It predicts a 20 per cent probability of rain in Ahmedabad for June 3, on the other hand.
