The 2025 IPL season has been suspended for now, with no confirmation yet on when it will resume. Here is Wisden's team of the tournament so far.

Prabhsimran Singh

M: 12 | 487 runs @ 44.3, SR 170.9 | HS: 91

After years of promise but a lack of consistency, Prabhsimran exploded to form this year, as the senior opening partner to Priyansh Arya. He's currently on a run of four consecutive fifties, each of them coming at a strike-rate of 150 or better.

B Sai Sudharsan

M: 11 | 509 runs @ 46.3, SR 153.3 | HS: 82

In 11 innings, Sai Sudharsan has scored 30 or more nine times. This IPL, he became the fastest Indian to 2,000 runs (by innings), and has firmly put himself in the spotlight for a national team call-up. His success at the top alongside Shubman Gill has been one of the cornerstones of GT's stellar campaign so far.

Jos Buttler

M: 11 | 500 runs @ 71.4, SR 163.9 | HS: 97*

Buttler's shift to No.3 this year has done no harm to his performance. That average is boosted by four not outs, but his ability to ramp up the tempo on the back of solid starts from Gill and Sai Sudharsan means he fits like a glove into GT's template – the results are there for all to see.

Shreyas Iyer

M: 12 | 405 runs @ 50.6, SR 180.8 | HS: 97*

The IPL's second-most expensive player ever is having a considerably better time than the most expensive one. This IPL is just the latest chapter in the redemption arc of Shreyas Iyer's career, ever since he lost his central contract last year. Under his leadership, Punjab are still in with a shot of that elusive first trophy.

Suryakumar Yadav

M: 12 | 510 runs @ 63.8, SR 170.6 | HS: 68*

Perhaps one of the most low-key Orange Cap seasons ever. At this point, 'SKY' puts in T20 performances like these on the regular, so they can go almost unnoticed. He's yet to score under 25 in an innings this year, and every time he plays, puts the team in a batter position.

Hardik Pandya

M: 11 | 158 runs @ 26.3, SR 168.1 | HS: 48* | 13 wickets @ 19.8, Ec 9.2 | BBI: 5-36

Hardik has been surprisingly effective, if sometimes expensive, with the ball this year – his five-for against LSG the crowning moment. He has provided reminders of his batting prowess, though, most notably with his 42 off 15 to revive an almost-dead game against RCB.

Tim David

M: 11 | 186 runs @ 93.0, SR 193.8 | HS: 50*

A specialist finisher, David has delivered everything RCB could have asked of him. He's been dismissed only twice, and even in tricky situations has managed to score at the rate of knots.

Krunal Pandya

M: 11 | 97 runs @ 24.3, SR 129.3 | HS: 73* | 14 wickets @ 21.4, Ec 8.6 | BBI: 4-45

Krunal has proved one of RCB's savvier auction picks. A primarily defensive bowler, he's still managed 14 wickets this season across a variety of conditions and situations. 73 of his 97 runs came in one vital knock, to see RCB over the line in a tricky chase against Delhi Capitals.

Varun Chakravarthy

M: 12 | 17 wickets @ 19.4, Ec 7.0 | BBI: 3-22

KKR may be having a difficult season, but Varun has continued to quietly establish himself as India's best T20 bowler after Jasprit Bumrah. He's been virtually un-hittable, and his 17 wickets are only behind Noor Ahmad's 20 among spinners.

Prasidh Krishna

M: 11 | 20 wickets @ 16.5, Ec 7.7 | BBI: 4-41

Currently the joint-leading wicket-taker, Prasidh'sfirst IPL campaign since 2022 has been a resounding success. Economical, devastating and consistent – it's finally the year he starts to deliver on all his talent.

Josh Hazlewood

M: 10 | 18 wickets @ 17.3, Ec 8.4 | BBI: 4-33

Hazlewood has grown leaps and bounds in the last few years as a T20 bowler – and RCB have cashed in. Whether with the new ball, through the middle or at the death, he's played a crucial role in choking the run flow of the opposition.

Impact Player: Trent Boult

M: 12 | 18 wickets @ 19.9, Ec 8.5 | BBI: 4-26

Day in, day out, Trent Boult continues to be a wicket-taking machine in the Powerplay. His last four games have yielded 12 wickets, with his upturn in form one of the key factors behind MI's recent run of excellent form.
