Who are the players to watch out for?
CSK suffered a crushing defeat in their opening game of the season in Guwahati; they had no answer to Rajasthan's pace duo of Jofra Archer and Nandre Burger, stuttering to 127 before Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's 15-ball half-century effectively ended the chase in the Powerplay. Dewald Brevis and MS Dhoni were injury absences in the first match and while the former has returned to training, the latter still appears unlikely to play.
Sarfaraz Khan batted as an impact sub in the first game, but if the Chepauk wicket is expected to take a bit of turn, he may find a starting berth, potentially ahead of Ayush Mhatre. Youngster Prashant Veer, for whose services CSK paid through the nose at the auction, is another candidate to play.

Punjab got over the line in a close game against Gujarat Titans earlier this week. Yuzvendra Chahal impressed with the ball in the first innings before Cooper Connolly, on IPL debut, played a superb hand of 72 off 44 balls to chase down 163 after they slipped from 110-2 to 118-6. Having been a settled side since last season, no major changes are expected. Based on conditions, they may have a case to play the extra spinner in Harpreet Brar.
