New Zealand beat West Indies in a high-scoring third Test at Mount Maunganui - here's what the World Test Championship table looks like after that result.

West Indies collapse at Mount Maunganui

After electing to bat first on day one (December 18), New Zealand had openers Devon Conway (227) and Tom Latham (137) rack up a WTC-record 323-run opening stand. They eventually declared at 575-8 on day two, after Rachin Ravindra's unbeaten 72 gave the score a boost.

West Indies replied with a fairly competitive 420, led by Kavem Hodge's 123 not out, supplemented by Brandon King's 63 and forties from John Campbell, Alick Athanze and Justin Greaves.

Latham and Conway both scored centuries once again, to record a first-class first. After racing to 306-2 in 54 overs, New Zealand declared to set the visitors 462 to win in just under four sessions.

A draw at least looked on the cards as Campbell and King put on 87 for the first wicket, getting past drinks in the morning session of day five unscathed. But an almighty collapse followed. King was bounced out by Jacob Duffy before Campbell holed out trying to attack Ajaz Patel.

Ravindra's excellent short leg catch accounted for Hodge, before Duffy nicked off Athanaze and Greaves. In the space of 9.4 overs, West Indies had lost five wickets and added just 11 runs. They went into lunch 99-5.

It was a slow burn thereafter as West Indies played for the draw. Shai Hope made three off 78 balls, and was trapped lbw by Patel. The resistance thereafter came from Tevin Imlach (15* off 90), but New Zealand eventually skittled the Windies for 138 to win by 323 runs. Duffy took 5-32, his third five-for of the series while Patel conceded just 23 runs from his 31 overs.

The result has pushed New Zealand to second in the WTC standings. West Indies remain at the bottom.
