Imam-ul-Haq scores his third One-Day Cup ton

On Sunday (August 24), the left-hander steadied the innings after his opening partner, Adam Lyth, fell for six in the run chase of 285 against Sussex. That was the only moment of celebration the Sussex bowlers had for the next 33 overs, as Imam, along with James Wharton, took the team past the 200-run mark. While the No.3 was dismissed on 85, Imam completed his hundred in 102 balls, before departing six balls later. His innings contained 10 fours and three sixes, coming at a strike rate of 100.95.

Yorkshire overhauled the target with 14 balls to spare and jumped to the top of Group B. They have 24 points from seven games, with six wins.

Imam currently has 513 runs from six innings, and is one of only two batters with more than 500 runs in this year’s One-Day Cup (after Nick Gubbins). He has also hit 10 sixes, the joint fifth-highest. No other player from his side has hit more than six.
