The first double-header of PSL 2025 took place on Thursday, May 1. Here's what the points table looks like after the two results.
Karachi Kings thrash Multan Sultans by 87 runs
In the first match of the day, Karachi skipper David Warner chose to bat first after winning the toss. He himself scored a quickfire 30 off 13 balls to kickstart the innings.
James Vince scored an unbeaten 65, before Irfan Khan Niazi (40) and Khushdil Shah (33*) put the finishing touches to power them to 204-4.
In reply, Multan lost three wickets in the Powerplay before eventually sliding to 117 all out – their seventh-lowest total ever. Mohammad Nabi took 3-14, and Khushdil chipped in with 2-26 to go with his batting contribution.
Lahore Qalandars, Quetta Gladiators share points after washout
In the highly-anticipated evening game, Quetta put Lahore in to bat first and were instantly rewarded when Khurram Shahzad knocked over Fakhar Zaman in the very first over.
Mohammad Naeem (50) and Abdullah Shafique (53*) then put on 102, before the former was dismissed by Abrar Ahmed in the 10th over. Abrar also got rid of Daryl Mitchell in the 12th over.
Immediately after that wicket, with the score at 111-3, play was suspended thanks to a sudden dust storm. Continuous rain followed, forcing a washout, and the teams took one point each.

Karachi's win gave them a much-needed net run rate boost, although they remain some way off the other teams. They currently occupy the last playoff spot. The Kings could snatch top two with three wins in a row, but could also be edged out by Peshawar Zalmi. Multan, meanwhile, have been eliminated from the tournament – a disappointing campaign on the back of four consecutive final appearances.
The Lahore-Quetta washout ended up being not too bad for either team. They remain in second and third respectively, and both retain solid chances of playoff qualification as one of the top two sides. Quetta do have the advantage here though, with a game in hand.
