On Friday (May 9), the PCB announced that the remainder of the Pakistan Super League will be moved out of Pakistan.
Military action by both India and Pakistan along the countries' shared border has cast doubt over the scheduling of both franchise leagues running concurrently this year – the IPL and the PSL.
On May 8, the IPL game between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals in Dharamshala was called off midway through the first innings, and the stadium evacuated. IPL chair Arun Dhumal later told PTI: "We are reviewing the situation right now. It is an evolving situation. We haven't received any directive from the government. Obviously the decision will be taken keeping all the logistics in mind."
Last phase of PSL 2025 to be played in UAE
In the early hours of May 9, there was more rescheduling afoot, as the PCB announced the shifting of all remaining PSL games to the UAE, with (as yet unconfirmed) reports suggesting it could take up to a week for the league to resume.
PCB chair Mohsin Naqvi issued a separate statement after the rescheduling announcement, stressing the importance of ensuring the "mental well-being of all players participating in the HBL PSL."
What are the remaining PSL fixtures to take place in UAE?
This announcement comes a day after the Karachi Kings vs Peshawar Zalmi fixture on May 8 in Rawalpindi was postponed indefinitely. Including that match, there were four games scheduled to take place in Rawalpindi, three in Multan and one in Lahore.
Four more group stage games, and the four playoff matches will now take place in the UAE.

Will the IPL also be moved out of India?
There has been no confirmation yet as to the status of the IPL. The Indian Express reported on the morning of May 9 that league officials are keeping all options open, and awaiting government advice.
The Age reported on Friday that Australian players in the IPL and PSL have expressed concerns over the situation, and are ready to leave their respective countries, should the need arise.
An official statement from Cricket Australia also read: "We continue to closely monitor the situation in Pakistan and India, including obtaining regular advice and updates from the Australian Government, the PCB, BCCI and local government authorities, and maintaining communication with our players and support staff currently in the region."
