The first ever Pakistan Super League auction was held on February 11. Here are the most expensive players sold at the auction.
In 2026, the PSL had its first ever player auction – a departure from their usual drafts system. The eight franchises included five teams from 2025 (Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators); and three new teams (Sialkot Stallionz, Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen, and the yet-to-be-named Rawalpindi-based franchise).

Each of these franchises was allowed to retain up to four players ahead of the auction. They will have to leave the auction with squads of 16 to 20 players. These will include five and seven overseas players and least two uncapped U23 players. Of the U23 players, at least one has to play in every match. All cricketers will be signed on two-year contracts until the grand auction after PSL 2027.

IU picked up Faheem Ashraf, the first name at the auction, for PKR 8.5 crore. Until now, Faheem’s price has been surpassed only by Naseem Shah, who went for PKR 8.65 crore. Daryl Mitchell (PKR 8.05 crore) has been the only other cricketer to surpass the eight-crore mark.
