The second round of the 2025/26 Ranji Trophy started on October 25. Here is a roundup of action from day three.
Elite Group A
No play was possible in the Andhra-Baroda match at Vizianagaram due to inclement weather from the impending Cyclone Montha.
Rain also interrupted the Uttar Pradesh-Odisha match in Kanpur, but the hosts reached 380-6 from their overnight score of 261-3. Captain Karan Sharma and Aaradhya Yadav both struck centuries, stretching their first-innings lead to 137.
Bengaluru, the venue for the Tamil Nadu vs Nagaland match, was no exception to the ripple effect of the bad weather. Resuming their innings on 150-4, Nagaland reached 365-5, with Dega Nischal and Imliwati Lemtur scoring hundreds. Nagaland now trail by 147 runs.
Vidarbha made a strong start to their response to Jharkhand's 322 in the first innings, ending the day at 239-2.

- Jharkhand 332 (Sharandeep Singh 69, Nachiket Bhute 4-41) lead Vidarbha 239-2 (Aman Mokhade 145*, Sahil Raj 1-40) by 93 runs.
Elite Group B
Prithvi Shaw, playing for Maharashtra, struck the third-fastest double ton in Ranji Trophy history, off 141 balls. Chasing 464 in the fourth innings, Chandigarh had made a strong start, reaching 129-1.
In response to Karnataka's 371, set by Karun Nair's 174 not out, Goa slipped to 115-6. Then Arjun Tendulkar batted patiently for his unbeaten 43 off 115 deliveries to see Goa through to stumps without any further damage.
Madhya Pradesh, 355-9, have taken a first-innings lead over Saurashtra. After Yash Dubey struck a hundred on day one, they slumped to 203-7 before an unbeaten century from Saransh Jain at No. 9 brought their innings back on track. For Saurashtra, Jaydev Unadkat picked up 4-33.
Replying to Punjab's 436, Kerala finished the day at 247-6. Ankit Sharma resisted with a 152-ball 62.

- Punjab 436 (Harnoor Singh 170, Ankit Sharma 4-103) lead Kerala 247-6 (Ankit Sharma 62, Krish Bhagat 2-37) by 189 runs.
Elite Group C
After Bengal made 279, out-of-favour India spinner Shahbaz Ahmed picked up a career-best haul of 6-34 to secure a 112-run first-innings lead. Sudip Kumar Gharami then made a half-century in the second innings to stretch their lead to 282.
In Manglar, Yuvraj Chaudhary (92) and Bhupen Lalwani (78) brought Uttarakhand to within just 23 runs of Railways' first-innings total of 333.

Elite Group D
At Thutipet on a rain-affected day, Puducherry slumped to 92-8 in response to Hyderabad's 435 in the first innings.
Mumbai ended day three in an advantageous position after scoring 416 in the first innings. Aditya Sarwate took one of the remaining two wickets to complete his five-wicket haul. Chhattisgarh, who were 85-0 at one stage, ended the day at 175-6.
Having achieved a 130-run first-innings lead, Jammu and Kashmir bundled out Rajasthan for 89 in the second innings to win by an innings. Auqib Nabi finished with a 10-wicket match haul. He also scored a 65-ball 55.
After securing a first-innings lead, Delhi are currently 196-4 in the second innings. Yash Dhull struck 70 off 59 while Ayush Doseja made 62 not out off 63.
