Prithvi Shaw got a fifty in the Ranji Trophy

Round four of the 2025/26 Ranji Trophy began on November 8; here's a round-up of all the action from day two.

Elite Group A

Having secured a five-run lead, Tamil Nadu got to 102-3 against Andhra. Nagaland were reeling at 77-4 after Uttar Pradesh declared on 535-6. Having reached 286, Vidarbha had Odisha at 102-6. Baroda were in trouble at 78-3 after Jharkhand rode on Kumar Kushagra’s double ton to amass 506.

Scores at stumps, day two:

  • Tamil Nadu 182 (Prithvi Raj 4-46) and 102-3 (B Sachin 51) lead Andhra 177 (Shaik Rasheed 87*; Sandeep Warrier 4-53) by 107 runs.
  • Uttar Pradesh 535-6d (Madhav Kaushik 185*, Arun Juyal 140, Shivam Mavi 101*; Rongsen Jonathan 4-150) lead Nagaland 77-4 by 458 runs.
  • Vidarbha 286 (Dhruv Shorey 144; Sambit Baral 3-69) lead Odisha 122-6 by 164 runs.
  • Jharkhand 506 (Kumar Kushagra 234; Mahesh Pithiya 3-156, Bhargav Bhatt 3-123) lead Baroda 78-3 by 428 runs.

Elite Group B

Maharashtra finished the day on 200-6, still in the hunt after Karnataka posted 313 as former Test openers Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal got fifties. Madhya Pradesh were 181-7 in response to Goa’s 284. After a first-innings lead of 31, Chandigarh were 168-7 against neighbours Punjab. Saurashtra, 47-1, need another 26 to avoid the innings defeat against Kerala.

  • Karnataka 313 (Mayank Agarwal 80; Jalaj Saxena 4-94) lead Maharashtra 200-6 (Prithvi Shaw 71; Shreyas Gopal 4-46) by 113 runs.
  • Goa 284 (Suyash Prabhudessai 65; Saransh Jain 4-78) lead Madhya Pradesh 181-7 (Vasuki Koushik 3-33) by 103 runs.
  • Chandigarh 173 (Nikhil Thakur 63; Ayush Gopal 4-50) and 168-7 (Harpreet Brar 3-47) lead Punjab 142 (Nishunk Birla 4-18) by 199 runs.
  • Saurashtra 160 (Jay Gohil 84; MD Nidheesh 6-20) and 47-1 trail Kerala 233 (Rohan Kunnummal 80; Jaydev Unadkat 4-42) by 26 runs.

Elite Group C

Having declared on 602-7, Tripura had Assam at 67-4. After bowling out Services for 248, Gujarat recovered from 118-4 to 171-4. Bengal scored 474 and had Railways at 55-5 before the latter recovered to 97-5. With four wickets in hand, Haryana still need 71 to avoid the innings defeat against Uttarakhand.

  • Tripura 602-7d (Hanuma Vihari 156, Vijay Shankar 150*; Darshan Rajbongshi 3-83) lead Assam 67-4 by 535 runs.
  • Services 248 (Siddharth Desai 5-74) lead Gujarat 171-4 by 77 runs.
  • Bengal 474 (Anustup Majumdar 135, Sumanta Gupta 120; Kunal Yadav 4-98) lead Railways 97-5 (Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal 4-17) by 377 runs.
  • Haryana 112 (Mayank Mishra 4-38, J Suchith 5-27) and 105-6 (J Suchith 3-30) trail Uttarakhand 288 (Yuvraj Chaudhary 60; Parth Vats 3-60) by 71 runs.

Elite Group D

Puducherry were 108-2 after bowling out Chhattisgarh for 377. Having posted 446, Mumbai had Himachal Pradesh at 94-7. Jammu & Kashmir continued with their excellent run as they secured a 99-run first-innings lead against Delhi. Having conceded 364 against Rajasthan, Hyderabad recovered from 117-5 to 221-5.

  • Chhattisgarh 377 (Mayank Verma 121*; Puneet Datey 3-71) lead Puducherry 108-2 by 269 runs.
  • Mumbai 446 (Musheer Khan 112, Siddhesh Lad 127; Mayank Dagar 4-111) lead Himachal Pradesh 94-7 (Himanshu Singh 3-26) by 352 runs.
  • Delhi 211 (Ayush Badoni 64; Auqib Nabi 5-35) and 7-0 lead Jammu & Kashmir 310 (Paras Dogra 106; Simarjeet Singh 6-52) by 92 runs.
  • Hyderabad 364 (Rahul Radesh 129; Ashok Sharma 3-89) lead Rajasthan 221-5 (Kunal Rathore 64*) by 143 runs.

Plate Group

Sikkim finished on 307-8 to extend their lead against Bihar to 42 runs. After amassing 400, Manipur had Meghalaya at 56-4. Akash Kumar Choudhary broke a plethora of records as Meghalaya declared on 628-6. Arunachal Pradesh need 526 to make them bat again, and have seven wickets in hand.

  • Bihar 265 (Sakibul Gani 66; Ankur Malik 5-81) trail Sikkim 307-8 (Robin Limboo 91; Suraj Kashyap 4-100) by 42 runs.
  • Manipur 400 (Al Bashid Muhammed 126) lead Mizoram 56-4 by 344 runs.
  • Meghalaya 628-6d (Arpit Bhatewara 207, Kishan Lyngdoh 119; Rahul Dalal 144; TNR Mohith 3-160) lead Arunachal Pradesh 73 (Aryan Bora 4-16) and 29-3 by 526 runs.
