The latest round of Vijay Hazare Trophy matches took place on Saturday (January 3). Here's how India's national team players performed.
ODI squad members - New Zealand series
Yashasvi Jaiswal
Chasing 367 was always going to be an uphill task for Mumbai against Maharashtra. Any hopes they might have had were swiftly extinguished when Jaiswal was dismissed by Ramakrishna Ghosh in the second over of the chase, for three. Elder brother Tejasvi outscored him today, making 25 for Tripura in their unsuccessful pursuit of 333 against Karnataka.
KL Rahul
After a platform was set, Rahul came to the crease with Karnataka at 142-3 in 27.3 overs against Tripura. He hit four fours and a six in a breezy 35 off 28 before the extra bounce of Ajay Sarkar saw him glove a pull shot through to keeper Sentu Sarkar.
Rishabh Pant
Delhi only needed 179 to beat Services in Bengaluru, and the score was 97-2 in 11.2 overs when Pant walked in at No.4. He dominated the scoring, slamming an unbeaten 67 off 37 in a partnership of 85 with Priyansh Arya. He is no longer a starter for India in white-ball cricket, so the feeling of being among the runs will not harm at all.

Nitish Kumar Reddy
Captaining Andhra, NKR took the new ball for his side as they bowled first against Gujarat. He struck twice in the powerplay, removing Aarya Desai and Ahaan Poddar for eight and 13, respectively. He was a tad expensive though, going for 65 in 10 overs.
In the chase of 319, he came to the crease at 190-4 in 35.1 overs but did not make an impact. Arzan Nagwaswalla prised him out for 25 off 27, and Andhra went on to lose by seven runs.
Mohammed Siraj
Defending 287 for Hyderabad, Siraj took the new ball against Chandigarh and was restrictive. His eight overs consisted of three maidens and went for just 19 runs. He took the wicket of Taranpreet Singh for seven, reducing Chandigarh to 26-3 in the 12th over. Siraj's teammates then took over, and they secured a massive 136-run win.
Prasidh Krishna
After the Karnataka batters made 332-7, Krishna took the new ball. After Udiyan Bose was run out and Vidyadhar Patil bowled Sridam Paul, Krishna's snorter to Vijay Shankar dismissed the all-rounder for one, and reduced Tripura to 26-3. The quick finished with 1-47 in nine overs as his side ran out winners by 80 runs.
Shubman Gill
Did not play for Punjab against Sikkim. India's ODI captain was meant to play, but fell ill with a bout of food poisoning on the eve of the match.
Rohit Sharma
Did not play for Mumbai.
Virat Kohli
Did not play for Delhi.
Shreyas Iyer
Did not play for Mumbai.
Ravindra Jadeja
Did not play for Saurashtra.

Tilak Varma
The Hyderabad skipper lost the toss against Chandigarh, but came out with flying colours. He was brought to the crease at 25-1, which soon became 39-2. Tilak put on 114 for the third wicket with Abhirath Reddy, and eventually made his way to a sixth List A ton, scoring 109 off 118 balls with six fours and three sixes. Hyderabad posted 286-9, and won by 136 runs.
Rinku Singh
Rinku did what Rinku does. The Uttar Pradesh batters had a good day overall as Dhruv Jurel, Priyam Garg and Sameer Rizvi all scored half-centuries, and all seven batters scored double figures. Captain Rinku slotted in nicely, with a breezy 41 off 35 balls between the 32nd and 43rd overs. UP eventually won by 58 runs.
Ishan Kishan
A quiet day this time around for the surprise entrant in the T20 World Cup squad. Kishan made a run-a-ball 21 as Kumar Kushagra's unbeaten 143 pushed Jharkhand to 311-7, but Kerala chased it down with more than seven overs to spare.
Sanju Samson
The architect of that chase were Kerala's openers. Both of them – Rohan Kunnummal and Samson – struck centuries. The India international scored 101 off 95, but his captain outscored him with 124. Interestingly enough, this made it back-to-back List A tons for Samson; just that the last time he batted in the format was in an ODI in December 2023, over two years ago.
Hardik Pandya
Playing under the captaincy of elder brother Krunal, Hardik was brought to the crease with Baroda 71-5 in the first innings against Vidarbha. He made 47 in a stand of 65 with his skipper, but subsequently – there is no other way to put it – he went nuts. Hardik was on 66 off 62 when Parth Rekhade came on to bowl. The left-arm spinner was promptly struck for five sixes and a four, and Hardik reached a maiden limited-overs century off 68 balls. He made 133 off 92, lifting Baroda to 293.
Hardik took the new ball, but sent down only two overs. As a BCCI press release confirmed later in the day, his bowling workloads are still being managed.
Axar Patel
Hardik was not the only player to score their first List A century. Axar walked in at 29-3 in 6.5 overs against Andhra. Starting at a cruising pace, he made 43 off his first 47 balls before accelerating. He went from 50 to 100 in 42 balls, and then hit 30 off his next 13 balls to depart for 130 off 111. His knock helped Gujarat post 318-9, and he then returned 2-27 in six overs as they ended up winning a tight game by seven runs.
Varun Chakravarthy
Chakravarthy was Tamil Nadu's standout bowler. Two of his 10 overs were maidens, and he bowled 40 dots in all. There was also the small matter of returning 4-25 as TN bowled Rajasthan out for 225. In the second innings, with their chase rapidly disintegrating, he gave Washington Sundar company for nine overs in their ninth-wicket stand but could not see his side over the line.
Suryakumar Yadav
Did not play for Mumbai.
Abhishek Sharma
Did not play for Punjab.
Shivam Dube
Did not play for Mumbai.
Jasprit Bumrah
Did not play for Gujarat.
Players part of both squads
Washington Sundar
At Ahmedabad, Sundar's Tamil Nadu bowled Rajasthan out for 225, and he contributed with 1-53 in 10 overs; his solitary wicket was that of opposition skipper Manav Suthar for 43. TN were cruising at 121-1 in 16.1 overs when he walked in at No.3, but things deteriorated swiftly. Tamil Nadu crumbled to 150-4 and 190-7 to set the cat amongst the pigeons.
Shepherding the tail, Sundar helped his side inch towards victory in a 25-run ninth-wicket stand with Varun Chakravarthy. Chakravarthy was dismissed with TN still needing 11 to win, and Sundar was eventually the last man out for a doughty 36 off 75 balls as they fell short by 10 runs.
Kuldeep Yadav
Uttar Pradesh posted 322-5 against Jammu & Kashmir in Rajkot, before unleashing four spinners. Kuldeep's first significant involvement in the game was the run out of J&K opener Shubham Khajuria in the 17th over. He was his economical self with the ball, sending down 10 overs for 47 runs. Kuldeep also struck twice, removing wicketkeeper Rydham Sharma and New Delhi Capitals teammate Auqib Nabi.

Harshit Rana
Rana opened the bowling for Delhi alongside Ishant Sharma and was the standout as they bowled Services out for 178. Only his first wicket, that of Sagar Dahiya, came in the Powerplay. Rana bowled Irfan Ali in the 19th over, before taking two lower-order wickets in the 35th and 41st overs of the innings to finish with 4-47.
Arshdeep Singh
Punjab's work was done in the first innings as they skittled Sikkim for a paltry 75. No surprises that Arshdeep Singh was the spearhead. Sukhdeep Bajwa got the ball rolling with two wickets in the second over, before Arshdeep bowled Pranesh Chettri and had Kranthi Kumar caught in the Powerplay.
Palzor Tamang nicked off in the 11th over, before Arshdeep got rid of opposition skipper Lee Yong Lepcha and Ankur Malik to complete a five-wicket haul. He bowled 10 of the 22.2 overs Punjab sent down in the innings, and returned 5-34.
