Twenty-two-year-old Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanuja Sahan scored his maiden first-class ton while also picking up nine wickets in the same match in the Major League Tournament.
Lining up for Ace Capital Cricket Club in their Major League Tournament game against the Nondescripts Cricket Club, Sahan picked up a five-for - his 14th in first-class cricket - in the first innings with his left-arm spin to help his side limit the opponents to 333 after they had taken a strong head start with a 115-run opening partnership.
While his teammates faltered with the bat in reply, Sahan, batting at No.7 after the ACCC were reduced to 58-5, struck his maiden first-class hundred, scoring 120 runs off 133 deliveries. The second-highest score for his side was 33.

He held one end, participating in partnerships worth 46, 47, 43 and 87 runs for the sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth wickets, respectively, and was the last man to be dismissed with his side finishing at 288. Sahan's previous best first-class score was 75.
Trailing by 45 runs, ACCC needed a strong start with the ball and Sahan, opening the bowling, delivered just that. He dismissed Lahiru Udara and Kapil Mishara in the second over of the innings to reduce Nondescripts Cricket Club to 1-2, before they were further reduced to 28-4.
Sahan eventually finished with four wickets to take his match tally to nine, but a strong showing from Kavin Bandara (102) allowed them to declare at 206-9, setting ACCC 252 to chase in 34 overs.
