Pakistan bowler Nashra Sandhu during match two of the Women's T20 International Series between Ireland and Pakistan at Castle Avenue Cricket Ground in Dublin

On Monday (September 22), Pakistan’s Nashra Sandhu picked up a record six-wicket haul to help her team beat South Africa in the third and final match of their 2025 women’s ODI series.

Sandhu records best WODI bowling figures v South Africa

Having already lost the three-match series, Pakistan started the dead-rubber with a statement bowling performance, spearheaded by their left-arm spinner Sandhu. The visitors were skittled out for 115 in 25.5 overs, with their highest score being captain Laura Wolvaardt’s 28. Sandhu picked up 6-26 off her nine overs, including two maidens.

That's the 10th lowest score South Africa Women have ever been bowled out for while batting first. The record low of 63 also came against Pakistan in a women's ODI in 2019.

Sandhu’s 6-26 are the best women's ODI bowling figures by a Pakistan player against a Full Member nation. Only Sajjida Shah, who took 7-4 against Japan, had a better outing. Shah’s figures also remain the best bowling performance by a woman in ODIs. In total, Sandhu’s performance is the 24th instance of a woman picking up six or more wickets in an ODI innings.

In the process, Sandhu also now has the best bowling figures against South Africa in women’s ODIs. She surpassed England’s Sophie Ecclestone’s 6-36 in 2022.

In response, Pakistan sealed the match in 31 overs at the loss of four wickets. Sidra Amin (50 not out off 94 balls) anchored the chase.

The low-scoring affair was a contrast to the first two matches, which had already made this the women's ODI bilateral series with the most hundreds. Amin and Tazmin Brits, the top two run-scorers, scored two each, while Laura Wolvaardt and Marizanne Kapp hit one apiece.
