BAN vs PAK: What are the team updates?
The hosts have only announced their team for the first Test so far. They will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto, while Mehidy Hasan Miraz will be his deputy. However, Bangladesh will be fretting over the fitness of Shanto, who suffered a hamstring injury during the third ODI against New Zealand last month.
The hosts have also named two uncapped players in their side - Tanzid Hasan, who has played 45 T20Is and 34 ODIs, and Amite Hasan, a 24-year-old batter who averages 49.32 in 49 first-class games. Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, both of whom last played a Test in 2024, make returns.

Pakistan, on the other hand, have a change in their coaching set-up, with former skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed leading the charge. Shan Masood will continue to be captain, with four uncapped players also featuring in the 16-member squad.
Abdullah Fazal, a 23-year-old top-order batter who has four hundreds and 10 fifties in 25 red-ball matches, has been picked alongside Azan Awais, who averages 48.60 from 33 domestic matches, with 10 tons. Right-arm seamer Amad Butt and Ghazi Ghori, who has played one ODI, have also been included.
