The 2025 edition of the All India Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket Tournament begins on August 18. Find out how to watch the tournament live, including TV channels and live streaming.
The tournament, one of India’s oldest, derives its name from Mothavarapu Venkata Mahipathi Naidu – popularly known as Buchi Babu Naidu – a pioneer who introduced cricket to the Madras Presidency (now Tamil Nadu) during British colonial rule. Established to provide a platform for talented local players to compete against English cricketers, it was the most prestigious tournament in India outside the Bombay Quadrangular.
Hosted by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Associaton (TNCA), the tournament returned after a six-year hiatus in 2023. 16 teams will participate in the divided into four groups. The tournament will be held between August 18 and September 9. All the league matches will be three-day affair with 90 overs per side in the first innings and 45 overs in the second. However, the semi-finals and final will be four-day fixtures.
