Nottinghamshire have signed 41-year-old former Australia Test seamer Peter Siddle for the 2026 T20 Blast.
Siddle previously represented Nottinghamshire in 2014, where he took 37 wickets in that year's County Championship. He has also played county cricket for Lancashire and Somerset, as well winning the 2019 County Championship with Essex, whom he represented from 2018 to 2021. His most recent county stint was for Durham in 2024, where he played four Championship matches in a short early season stint.
In the most recent Big Bash League season, Siddle had a successful season, taking 16 wickets at 17.00 in 11 games for Melbourne Stars, who are coached by Nottinghamshire head coach Peter Moores.

On joining Nottinghamshire for the full 2026 T20 Blast season, Siddle said, “I’m so excited and really looking forward to be heading back to Trent Bridge, and this time for the Vitality Blast. I’ve enjoyed my experiences in the Blast before, and coming off the Big Bash, where I felt great and made some good contributions, I can’t wait to get over to England again.
“It’s been great to work with Peter Moores at the Stars over the last couple of seasons, so I’m excited to continue that link-up.”
Siddle joins Anderson as oldest Blast bowlers
At 41 years old, Siddle will be one of the oldest players in the T20 Blast next season. James Anderson, who is 16 months older than Siddle, played his first T20 Blast match for 11 years last season. He took 20 wickets in 11 matches across the season at an average of 16.10.
Siddle made his T20 debut in 2006 for Western Australia and has since played 144 T20 matches.
