At Abu Dhabi, Rashid Khan routed Bangladesh with 5-17, his sixth five-wicket haul in ODIs.
Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by 81 runs in the second ODI to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series. Batting first after Hashmatullah Shahidi won the toss, Afghanistan were bowled out for 190 in 44.5 overs. Ibrahim Zadran (95) scored exactly half of these before being eighth out. For Bangladesh, Mehidy Hasan Miraz took 3-42, Tazmin Hasan Sakib 2-35, and Rishad Hossain 2-37.
A feature of the innings was Rahmat Shah’s injuries. Batting at four, he walked off in the 15th over. He returned to bat after the fall of the ninth wicket, but this time he had to be wheelchaired off after facing a solitary ball.
The Bangladesh chase never found momentum. Azmatullah Omarzai returned 3-27 before Rashid ran through the rest with 5-17, his sixth five-wicket haul in ODIs. Bangladesh were bowled out for 109 in only 28.3 overs.

With six five-wicket hauls, Rashid is now tied with Saqlain Mushtaq at third place among spinners on the all-time ODI list. Only Muttiah Muralidaran (10) and Shahid Afridi (9) have more. Across bowling styles, Waqar Younis (13) tops the list, followed by Muralidaran.
