Shiv Mathur, only 18 years old, smashed a 51-ball unbeaten 136 in the Hong Kong Premier League.

Hong Kong Cricket Club were 68-3 in nine overs after Diasqua Little Sai Wan Cricket Club captain Ehsan Khan won the toss and opted to field. Sahal Malvernkar joined wicketkeeper Mathur. When the 11th over began, HKCC were 78-3, and Mathur was on 12 from 13 balls.
In the next over, Mathur hit Tanveer Ahmed, who has played both ODIs and T20Is, for two sixes and a four. In the two overs that followed, Mathur hit three consecutive sixes off Ehsan, and three consecutive fours off Rajab Hussain. The first of these fours took him to his half-century, off a mere 23 balls.
The next fifty came at breakneck pace. Mathur hit four, six off Sheryar Khan; four, six, four off Muhammad Ashir; and six, four off Tanveer to reach 99. A single off the next ball got him to his hundred, off 36 balls. He celebrated this with two sixes in Ehsan’s next over (the 18th of the innings).
Malvernkar, who had supported this onslaught at the other end, took four, six, six, four, six in Rajab’s next over, reaching a 23-ball half-century en route.
He finished with an unbeaten 56 in 26 balls with six fours and three sixes, while Mathur’s 51-ball 136 not out had 12 fours and 11 sixes. His last 124 runs had taken Mathur a mere 38 balls.
Now only 18, Mathur has played nine T20Is for Hong Kong (including three at the 2023 Asian Games), but has struck at only 92, while his ovall T20 strike rate stands at 98. He also played for Hong Kong in the 2025/26 Asia Cup Rising Stars.
Chasing 252, Diasqua could only manage 144-9. The only innings of any substance came from Rajab, who hit 10 sixes in his 50-ball 86 from the top of the batting order. The collapse was triggered by Malvernkar (3-10), who claimed three wickets in his first over.
