Gudakesh Motie completed his third 10-wicket haul in first-class cricket, finishing with match figures of 10-119 against Windward Islands in the West Indies Championship.

The left-arm spinner had been out of the first-class circuit for over a year, having last played a four-day game in the previous West Indies Championship, also for Guyana against the same opposition. In that match, he had taken a nine-wicket haul, including 6-38 in the second innings.
Batting first in the game that began on April 12, Windward Islands were bowled out for 286 in the first innings at North Sound. Their innings was anchored by opener Ackeem Auguste, who made 95. Motie began his spell with the wicket of Sunil Ambris, the fourth to fall, and went on to take five of the last six wickets, including Auguste, to finish with 6-73.
Guyana were then dismissed for 264, conceding a narrow first-innings lead. In the second innings, Windward Islands were bowled out for 209, with Motie taking four wickets to complete a 10-for. Guyana ended day three at 38-1, needing 194 runs more to win.
Across his last two matches against Windward Islands, Motie has now taken 19 wickets, with two further fixtures against the same opposition scheduled in the ongoing West Indies Championship. The domestic first-class competition has adopted a revised format this season, replacing the round-robin league stage with multiple bilateral series between the same teams.
Motie made his Test debut in 2022 and has played 11 matches since. He has 35 scalps at 27.02, with best figures of 13-99. He has not played a Test since the series against Pakistan last year, also missing the tour of India in October 2025.
