Maaz Sadaqat starred for Pakistan in the second ODI of their three-match series against Bangladesh. Who is the 20-year-old all-rounder?

Sadaqat made his ODI debut in the first match of the series against Bangladesh, along with three other Pakistan teammates, including his opening partner Sahibzada Farhan. The southpaw could only score a 28-ball 18 as his side fell to an eight-wicket defeat.

But he proved why his all-round skills were so highly rated in the second game, hitting a 46-ball 75 before picking up three wickets for 23 runs with his left-arm spin to help Pakistan level the series with a 128-run win (DLS method) after some controversy where Salman Ali Agha was run out in bizarre circumstances. Sadaqat was named the Player of the Match.

Who is Maaz Sadaqat, the Pakistan all-rounder?

Sadaqat comes with a rich domestic background, having played 25 first-class, 30 List A and 33 T20 games across competitions. He averages over 35 across all three formats, with 1451, 1065 and 947 runs, respectively, while also scoring at 103.59 in List A and at 142.19 in 20-over cricket.

His maiden call-up to the ODI side came on the back of a strong President’s Cup 2025 showing, where he scored 374 runs in seven games at 62.33 and hitting at 144.40, the highest in the competition. Opening alongside Imam-ul-Haq for Oil & Gas, the highlight of the season was a 57-ball hundred against eventual champions Khan Research Laboratories.

He also played four matches for Peshawar Zalmi in the 2025 Pakistan Super League season, making a half-century on debut in a tricky chase. He scored 78 runs in three innings that season, striking at 165.95, with a top score of 55. Sadaqat also put his best foot forward in the third match of the recent unofficial T20 series against England Lions in Abu Dhabi, hitting a 36-ball 53 before picking up two wickets in a close two-run defeat.
