Wisden Book of the Year 2020: Cricket 2.0: Inside the T20 Revolution

by Wisden Staff 5 minute read

Cricket 2.0: Inside the T20 Revolution by Freddie Wilde and Tim Wigmore has been named the Wisden Book of the Year in the 2020 edition of the Wisden Almanack.

The co-authored tome tells the story of the evolution of T20 cricket and its effect on cricket as a whole. Writing in the Wisden Almanack, Alex Massie describes it as “a fascinating book, essential for anyone who wishes to understand cricket’s new age”.

Wigmore is a cricket journalist for the Daily Telegraph and a past winner of the CMJ Young Cricket Writer of the Year award. Freddie Wilde is an analyst at CricViz. Cricket 2.0: Inside the T20 Revolution was also named one of Wisden Cricket Monthly’s books of the year.

The Wisden Book of the Year for 2019 was Geoff Lemon’s Steve Smith’s Men: Behind Australian Cricket’s Fall, examining the contributing factors to and the fallout from the Newlands ball-tampering scandal of 2018.
