How many teams will play in Ranji Trophy 2025-26?
The 91st edition of India's premier first-class competition will be played between October 15 and February 24.
Thirty-two teams divided into four Elite Groups (A, B, C, and D) will compete for the title, while the lower tier – the Plate League – will have six more teams.
Vidarbha enter the tournament as the defending champions, having defeated Kerala in last season's final.

14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has been named Bihar's vice-captain, while IPL breakout star Priyansh Arya received his maiden Ranji Trophy call-up for Delhi. Veteran all-rounder Jalaj Saxena has switched allegiance from Kerala to Maharashtra.
He is not the only player to have switched to Maharashtra, as Prithvi Shaw has also moved out of Mumbai in the hope of turning around his fortunes.
