The Buchi Babu tournament is an invitational competition that began as a memorial tournament in 1909/10. For several years, the tournament has served as preparation for players ahead of the domestic season. In 2023, the tournament returned after a six-year hiatus, with Hyderabad beating Chattisgarh in the final last season.

Playing against Himachal, TNCA President's XI skipper Pradosh Ranjan Paul hit 73 from No.3. The 24-year-old averages 53 from 27 first-class games. In the 2025 Ranji Trophy, he scored 484 runs at 44.
Hundred for Nitya Pandya
The 19-year-old has put on a century stand with No.3 Sukirt Pandey for Baroda.
Sarfaraz hits rapid fifty
The India Test batter, who hit 92 for India A against the Lions in May, has now it a brisk fifty, and is batting on 51 off 52.

He opened the batting alongside Mhatre. Sarfaraz Khan, however, is going strong on 33* off 40

The 2025 edition of the All India Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket Tournament will be organised by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association TNCA from August 18 to September 9, across multiple venues in Chennai. Here are the squads of all teams.
Teenager Ayush Mhatre to lead Mumbai
Mhatre, 18 years old, has been named captain of the Mumbai side for the tournament. The squad also includes India international Sarfaraz Khan and his younger brother Musheer.
Out-of-favour India Test opener Prithvi Shaw has been named in a Maharashtra squad for the first time since his switch from Mumbai earlier this season. Read more here.
