But the Southern Rocks, sitting atop the league table and leading the Eagles by seven points, with a draw enough to win the title, batted big; all of their top six batters scored 50 or more. They were powered by a 196-run opening partnership between Matthew Campbell and Innocent Kaia (100), before the remaining batters took over.

No.3 Panashe Taruvinga scored 50, captain Roy Kaia added 76 runs to the total, Jonathan scored 59, while wicketkeeper Tafadzwa Tsiga (103*) hit a fifth first-class hundred, which also made him the ongoing season’s top scorer. The Rocks finished day three at 471-5 with one hand already on the 2025-26 Logan Cup title.

They eventually declared at 564-8 late on day four after Tsiga completed his hundred. This will be the Rocks’ second Logan Cup triumph after having won the title in the 2020-21 season. They had finished second in the 2023-24 season behind the Mountaineers.
