Kurtis Patterson followed up his biggest first-class knock with a hundred for New South Wales in a One-Day Cup game against South Australia on Tuesday, February 10.

Kurtis Patterson follows first-class high with List A ton

Patterson is on a golden run of form, having hit three hundreds and two fifties in his last seven matches across competitions. His last appearance for NSW in the Sheffield Shield yielded his personal best score in first-class cricket of 173* as he rescued the side from 218-6 to 440-8 declared in a draw against South Australia.

Now up against the same opponents in the List A competition, Patterson walked out following Sam Konstas’ (17) dismissal in the 11th over of a 243-run chase. He soon lost Josh Philippe (29) as well, with NSW still at 65-2.

But Patterson, captaining the side, added 113 runs with Matthew Gikes, who fell four short of his fifty, for the third wicket before an unbeaten 64-run stand with Lachlan Shaw (33) saw them through. In the process, he brought up his third List A hundred, finishing at 104 off 110 to win the player of the match award.

Earlier in the game, Alex Carey and Jason Sangha’s respective half-centuries had taken South Australia to a respectable 242-7. Charlie Stobo was the top wicket-taker for NSW, finishing with figures of 3-36, while Tanveer Sangha also took two wickets.
