Biography

The entertaining and lively chinaman had a start-stop international career. Dave Mohammed was drafted into the West Indies’ Test squad in 2001 but had to wait until December 2003 to make his Test debut against South Africa.

Dave was the only bright spot for the Windies, in an otherwise lethargic bowling line-up. Post that, he was out of the team till 2006. He was recalled for the 1st Test against India in West Indies. His aggression-filled 52 and 3 wickets in the second innings helped the Windies salvage a draw against the Indians.

Nicknamed 'Tadpole', Mohammed was a regular performer in the domestic setup when his international career was dormant. He was a part of the Trinidad & Tobago team that reached the finals of the inaugural Champions League T20. He hogged the limelight not only for his accurate and miserly spells with the ball but also his outrageous wicket celebrations. He bagged 5 wickets in 6 matches in the competition. He was also a part of the Superstars team that beat England in the winner-takes-all 20 million US dollars Twenty20 match.
