Biography
Kiran Navgire is an Indian cricketer known for her explosive power-hitting and for being the first Indian player (male or female) to score over 150 runs in a T20 match. A late bloomer who transitioned from athletics to cricket, she has become one of the most feared strikers in the domestic circuit and the Women’s Premier League (WPL).
Navgire’s path to professional cricket is unconventional. Growing up in a farming family in Solapur, she was initially a decorated track-and-field athlete. After starting with Maharashtra, she moved to Nagaland as a guest player in 2021 to secure more game time. Her stint there was legendary, leading to her being scouted for the WPL and the National team. She eventually returned to represent Maharashtra in the 2024-25 season.
She earned her maiden India call-up in September 2022 for the tour of England following her breakout domestic performances. In the 2025 domestic season, she hit the fastest century in Indian women's T20 history, scoring 106 off just 34 balls for Maharashtra against Punjab.
Navgire has been a core member of the UP Warriorz in the Women’s Premier League. In the WPL 2026 auction, UP Warriorz demonstrated their faith in her power-hitting by using their Right to Match (RTM) card to buy her back for ₹60 lakh.
