“How did you work that out?” asked Keith Miller. “Well, I just used Pythagoras’ Theorem,” responded Rutherford, who held science and mathematics degrees from the University of Western Australia. The nickname Pythagoras would not leave Rutherford, the first to play Test cricket while playing for Western Australia.
