Afghanistan domestic team Hindukush Strikers entered the top 10 of highest first-class scores this century with their mammoth 811-9 declared.
Hindukush Strikers post 811-9 in Ahmad Shah Abdali Four-day Tournament
Batting first against Pamir Legends in the fifth round of the 2025 Ahmad Shah Abdali Four-Day Tournament, the Hindukush Strikers achieved a rare feat: all four top-order batters scored centuries – only the 15th such occurrence in first-class history.
Hassan Eisakhil – son of Afghanistan great Mohammad Nabi – struck 128, his second century in just his third first-class match, while Test captain Hashmatullah Shahidi made 153 and Noor ul Rahman 132. The standout performance came from captain Mohammad Asif, who anchored the innings with a 319-ball 245.
The Strikers batted through most of the third day, facing 184 overs throughout their innings before declaring at 811-9. In response, Pamir Legends reached 68-1 by stumps, leaving the match likely to end in a draw with only a day remaining.
The Hindukush Strikers became only the 10th team to post an 800-plus total in a first-class innings this century, their score ranking as the seventh-highest of the 21st century. Queensland’s 900-6 declared against Victoria (2005/06) remains the highest since 2000, and the 11th-highest in first-class history. The all-time record belongs to Victoria, who hold the top two spots: 1,107 (vs New South Wales, 1926/27) and 1,059 (vs Tasmania, 1922/23) – the only quadruple-digit totals in first-class cricket.
